JCDecaux SA (Euronext Paris: DEC), the European leader and amongst world leaders in outdoor advertising, has announced that the Italian Chamber of Commerce in France (CCIF) has awarded the Prix France-Italie 2001 to Mr. Jean-Claude Decaux, Founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the JCDecaux Group.
This award comes as a result of recent partnership agreements between the JCDecaux Group, the RCS Rizzoli Corriere della Sera Group, the leading Italian publisher, and the Chène de Vère family. This consolidation gave birth to the company IGP Decaux, now the leader in outdoor advertising in Italy. Hailed in both Italian and French economic circles, these agreements have excited tremendous interest.
Mr. Jean-Claude Decaux received his award on 13 December 2001 during a ceremony organised by the CCIF in Paris.
The trophy designed by Giugiaro Design was presented to Mr. Decaux by Mr. Massimiliano Fuksas, the celebrated Italian architect.
The Prix France-Italie, now in its eighth year, was conceived to honour personalities who best represent the links between the two countries. Previous recipients of the award include, in particular, Messrs. Jacques Calvet and Cesare Romiti (1994), Mr. Antoine Bernheim (1995), Mr. Pierre Cardin (1996), Mr. Sergio Pininfarina (1997), Mr. Pasquale Pistorio (1998), Mr. Albert Uderzo (1999) and Mr. Jean Todt (2000).
