JCDecaux Argentina, a subsidiary of the JCDecaux Group, has just won 2 exclusive contracts in the City of Buenos Aires, which has a population of 12 million. These contracts, both of which are over a 12-year term, are for the installation, maintenance and sale of advertising space on street furniture in shopping centres and on petrol station forecourts in the city and the city outskirts : 1,872 advertising faces are to be installed in the coming months.
These two contracts will, over the 12-year term, generate revenues of around 85 million Euro (560 million French francs).
The first contract is with the Alto Palermo Group, Argentina's leading shopping centre operator, and is for the installation of 543 advertising faces, which includes 199 CIPs, flag poles and large format panels in 6 of the largest shopping centres in the centre of Buenos Aires. These shopping centres attract 55 million visitors per year. Estimated revenues generated over the term of the contract are approximately 27 million Euro (180 million French francs).
JCDecaux now has a network coverage of more than 450 shopping centres world-wide.
The second contract is with the oil company, YPF-Repsol, which is the leading oil company in Argentina and one of the largest in the world. The contract is for the installation of 1,329 advertising faces, with 374 CIPs installed on 150 petrol station forecourts located right in the heart of Buenos Aires and neighbouring areas. Revenues generated over the contract term are estimated at 58 million Euro (380 million French francs). These two contracts affirm JCDecaux's expansion in South America and the Group's dynamism on an international level : today 60 % of the Group's turnover is generated from international markets.
Commenting on the contracts, Jean-Charles Decaux, Chairman and co - CEO of the JCDecaux Group said "after winning the tenders for Salvador de Bahia in Brazil and Montivedo in Uruguay, this new South American victory demonstrates JCDecaux's know-how in this area of the world".
JCDecaux Argentina was established in July 1998, and is also responsible for the company's development in countries such as Uruguay, Chile, Mexico and countries in Central America.
