JCDecaux Group signs exclusive deal with Portugal's largest shopping centre group

JCDecaux Group signs exclusive deal with Portugal's largest shopping centre group JCDecaux has concluded a deal with Sonae, the largest industrial Group in Portugal, particularly renowned for its design and operation of shopping centres. Under the terms of the agreement, JCDecaux is responsible for the exclusive installation and operation of the advertising facilities in the commercial areas of the 23 shopping centres, Continente hypermarkets and main Modelo supermarkets currently run by the Sonae Group in Portugal. Some 155 million people visit the centres every year. JCDecaux will be installing and operating a total of 1,673 advertising surfaces on site. The deal, the only one of its kind in Portugal, also gives JCDecaux right of first refusal on any future shopping centres owned by Sonae. The work of installing the facilities is due to begin in December 2000.
