JCDecaux Airport, a subsidiary of JCDecaux SA (Euronext Paris: DEC) a world leader in outdoor advertising and the N°1 in Europe, today unveiled a new advertising model for Samsung at Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle.

The model is a giant likeness (12 metres high) of a Samsung mobile telephone. An exact copy of the device, the T100 mobile is seen in a hand resting on a base in its trade-mark colours. Located outside Roissy CDG airport, the “Samsung Hand” is visible from both directions by “Arrival and Departure” traffic.

JCDecaux Airport, in agreement with Aéroports de Paris (ADP), developed this location to enable Samsung Korea to achieve its marketing objectives and pursue its strategy of expanding its international brand recognition. Pascal Eve Company created the model, in conjunction with Cheil Communications (a subsidiary of Samsung).

During the inauguration ceremony, which took place in the presence of Messrs Y.C. KIM, Chairman of Samsung Europe, and Jean-François Decaux, Co-CEO of JCDecaux; Isabelle Schlumberger, Managing Director of JCDecaux Airport, said: “The Samsung Hand is an excellent example of JCDecaux’s expertise in the creation of high quality advertising models. This type of large-scale advertising demonstrates the airports commitment to promoting brand awareness and recognition. I am particularly pleased that we have unveiled the first of series of advertising models for Samsung in France, a programme that will shortly be extended across Europe”.
