JCDecaux SA (JCDecaux, Euronext Paris: DEC) announced today that the Los Angeles City Council has selected Infinity Decaux, LLC, - a joint venture of Infinity Outdoor Advertising, a subsidiary of Viacom Inc., and JCDecaux USA, Inc., the US subsidiary of JCDecaux SA - for its \"Coordinated Street Furniture Program\". Infinity Decaux's proposal was rated superior to its competitor's on each of the City's criteria, from quality to design, track record and compensation. Infinity Decaux's proposal for the 20-year street furniture contract with the City of Los Angeles will provide 2,500 bus shelters, 150 fully automated public toilets and an array of other street furniture. It is one of the largest contracts of its kind ever awarded in the US and worldwide. Los Angeles is the second largest city in the US with a population of 3.7 million and the largest outdoor advertising market in the country.
