JCDecaux, le 1er Groupe mondial de Communication JCDecaux, the world leader in Outdoor Advertising, has signed a 15-year contract with Taubman Centers Inc, the most productive shopping centre operator in America.
The purpose of this contract is to establish an Urban Street Furniture programme within the shopping centres. "It's like winning the Grand Slam. By adding Taubman Centers to the contracts already signed with Simon (n°1 for shopping centres in the USA) and Urban (n°3 for shopping centres in the USA), we are in the process of constructing a national advertising network in shopping centres". "JCDecaux offers attractive structures designed by world-renowned architects" said Robert S. Taubman, Chief Executive Officer of Taubman Centers. "We intend to work closely with them so as to identify the high-impact locations and to create a more attractive environment for our clients. This alliance adds value to our portfolio as it will produce a new flow of revenue which we hope will add at least two cents per share from 2001.
"The installation of advertising units will start in July 2000 and 16 centres will be fully equipped by the end of November. The first three centres to benefit are: The Mail in Short Hills (Short Hills, NJ), Stamford Town Center (Stamford, CT) and Beverley Center (Los Angeles, CA).
