On Thursday 15 June 2000 Avenir will unveil the first 12 m² vitrine or scrolling poster in the rue de Passy, Paris 16è, before their deployment in the Paris suburbs this summer and their subsequent installation in the largest French towns and cities.
AVENIR launches its 12 m² vitrine in France: a revolutionary product which has taken the engineers of the JCDecaux Group a year to develop.
Agencies now have access to an exceptional space which can accommodate the most incredible adverts and show off advertisers and their brands to the best advantage. The vitrine demonstrates better than anything else the development in billboards and urban street furniture towards high-quality technical products, designed to integrate perfectly with the natural environment in order to preserve the living environment.
This innovation is a major event for AVENIR because it symbolises the company's capacity to create and shows its logistical strength: 1 000 vitrines will be installed between 15 June and February 2001 and in total there will be no less than 3 000 vitrines which will become part of the new advertising landscape in France between now and the end of 2002. 12 as in 12 m². A real revolution which improves the quality and performance of the AVENIR networks. The vitrine is a scrolling illuminated unit which offers advertisers a status-enhancing presence. 11 as in 11 months.
This is the time which will be needed to transfer JCDecaux's scrolling SENIOR technology to the AVENIR 12 m² vitrine
It is hard to imagine the work it takes to launch a concept such as the vitrine concept. This has included: o Adapting the scrolling mechanism to a new format of 4X3; o Bringing power to the larger and heavier billboard; o Developing preparation tables for the 12 m² billboards. It took 120 engineers eleven months to successfully complete the task given to them. Now the AVENIR vitrines not only exist but their installation is to begin on 15 June and will continue throughout the whole of France at a sustained rate. 15 as in 15 June. Thursday 15 June is the date for the symbolic and ceremonial installation of the first AVENIR 12 m² vitrine in the rue de Passy, Paris 16è. This is also the date for the start of a very extensive installation operation. AVENIR will be implementing an ambitious plan for installation throughout the national territory: Summer 2000: Replacement of the Trivisions in and around Paris with 200 vitrines; September 2000 to February 2001: Similar operation in the 10 largest cities of France; 1000 vitrines installed in the space of 8 months. In 2001 and 2002 the aim is to continue installation on the basis of 1 000 vitrines per year. In the space of two and a half years, 3 000 vitrines will have been installed which will help to reinforce the quality of Avenir's assets.
