Our Group's new dimensions, the strategic importance of our international development and the upcoming key phases in our move towards flotation are just some of the factors which have led the shareholders of JCDecaux SA, the new corporate name of Decaux SA, to ensure its management by means of a Supervisory and Executive Board.
These two structures, which are in charge of developing and overseeing Group strategy, are to be vested with internal as well as external managerial authority.
The Supervisory Board is made up of Jean-Claude Decaux, Chairman, Jean-Pierre Decaux, Vice-Chairman, and Christian Blanc and Pierre-Alain Pariente, members.
Jean-Claude Decaux is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of JCDecaux Holding, the name by which JCDecaux International is now known.
Jean-Pierre Decaux joined the Group in 1963 and has been Chairman of the RPMU Company since 1980.
Vice-Chairman of Merrill Lynch Europe and Chairman of Merrill Lynch France since 1 October 2000, Christian Blanc is the former CEO of Air France (1993-1997) and RATP (1989-1992).
Pierre-Alain Pariente had sales responsibilities in various companies before joining JCDecaux in 1970 as Commercial Director of RPMU.
The Executive Board is composed of Jean-François Decaux, Chairman, Jean-Charles Decaux, General Director, and Robert Caudron, Gérard Degonse and Jeremy Male, members. The revolving annual chairmanship will go to Jean-François Decaux and Mr Jean-Charles Decaux.
The management of the Group by an Executive Board and a Supervisory Board is based on the distinction between the duties of General Management, which are the responsibility of the Executive Board, and its monitoring, which falls to the Supervisory Board.
